Josef Rosin, born in Kibart (Kybartai) Lituania is a 1939 graduate of Hebrew High School in Mariampol. He was imprisoned by the Nazis for two and a half years, escaped to fight as a partisan and then liberated by the Red Army. Returning to Kovno, meeting his bride Peninah they embarked on their journey to Eretz Yisrael.
Retiring after 37 years as an engineer, he has devoted his reirement to immortalizing the Jewish communities destroyed by the Nazis and their helpers. His original book was about his hometown of Kibart. In this book, Josef Rosin provides the expanded history of 31 Jewish communities in Lithuania.
